Let’s Try This Again

Welcome to the (re)launch of Intangible Consulting! Here’s what has changed and why:

Shortly after launching Intangible in the fall of 2022, I took a full-time job. That job offered the stability of a steady paycheck and allowed me to directly engage with communities around the country on economic development, transportation electrification, infrastructure, and other municipal challenges. I gained skills in grant writing, government affairs, and technical communications and felt that I made a positive impact in the communities I worked with.

In November 2023, though, my position was eliminated and I found myself back on the job market. While regrouping and planning my next move, I decided it was time to refocus the kind of consulting I want to offer. My experience with the activities of my last job, combined with my deep interest in how the major issues of economic development are playing out in Massachusetts, made me want to work more directly with communities to solve these challenges.

So here it is: the new Intangible Consulting!
What’s different?

Focus: My offerings are now designed specifically for small municipalities and community organizations facing challenges in economic development, workforce development, sustainability, transportation, housing, and infrastructure.

Services: I’ve rethought the services I offer, tailoring them to entities that don’t have the resources for full-time help in these areas. My core strengths are still communications and planning, and I realize that there are quite a few entities in the Commonwealth who need help in these areas but can’t afford to create a position for a Sustainability Coordinator or a Communications Officer. Hiring Intangible Consulting allows these communities to conduct public hearings, surveys, grant applications, and community outreach and communications without creating a new budget line item.

Purpose: Over the past several years, I have discovered both a knack and a passion within myself for improving the relationships between towns and their constituents. Regardless of the topic or how contentious public debate gets, I believe transparent, consistent, bidirectional communication is the key to resolving tensions. Most nonprofits and government offices I have worked with share a desire to communicate more with their constituents but lack a strategy for doing so.
That’s where Intangible comes in.

So welcome back! Or welcome for the first time! I’m ready to help, so let’s get started.
